So Wake Up

By Bruce Clifford

If we left it to them to keep us in line
The powerless and hungry would never survive
If we sat back to wait for that perfect time
The walls would crash in and would bury us alive
It shows we never tried

If we walked on the beach with our heads in the sand
We would be no better then the rest of the clan
If we came to a place where nothing could breath
There would be cruel intentions between you and me
It's so hard to believe

So wake up and smell the roses
Smell the coffee, and let tomorrow in
So lift up your desperate spirits
Raise a glass to all whom sacrificed
So wake up

If we walked a quiet road along a golden stream
Would you see the horizon or would you make a scene
If we left it to the moment without a second glance
Will you be my brother and would you take a chance

So wake up and smell the roses
Smell the coffee, and let tomorrow in
So wake up into this moment
Feel the energy penetrate from within
So lift up your desperate spirits
Hold a candle and point it to the light
So wake up and taste tomorrow
Find a reason to make this all seem right
