Sweet Season

By Clara Blair

March offers
The honeyed sweetness
Of blossoms
On our prickly hollies,
The winey perfume
Of our wild plum's
Flowers.

Their whiteness
Echoes the snow
That blanketed
Our garden
In February.
But their fragrance
Summons
Summer.
