Again

By Bruce Clifford

You make me see the world as if it were born again
You let me close my eyes and tell me I don't have to pretend
You reach out to my soul and cry with me when I'm in need
You find your way to my heart when I'm lost wandering in the street

You help me see the light as if the world has been made again
You help me shed my darkest dreams and you never have to defend
You reach out to my heart and lay down with me when I can't believe
You find your way to my soul and protect me when I'm asleep

If I had to do it all again
I wouldn't change a thing
I wouldn't change a thing

You help me see this life as if I had been made again
You let me close my eyes and tell me I don't have to pretend
You reach out to my soul and cry with me when I'm in need
You find your way to my heart when I'm lost wandering in the street

Comment: Bruce, I always appreciate the lyrical quality of your poetry, and the sensitivity it reflects. And at 63 I relate to the chorus in this poem.
