On The Run

By Bruce Clifford

I have lived here for more than one lifetime
I have been silent and calm
When I awake to the mirror of the laughter
Is when I break on the edge of the storm

I have seen the visions of tomorrow
Gazing out to the open airy dawn
In the night when the doors of deep space open
Is when I die a thousand and one times

It's not too late for laughter
It's not too late for fun
You have to know what you're going after
Or you will always be on the run
On the run

I have lived here during the age of the violent storm
I have seen a lot but always got it on
When the storm breaks and the sky begins to clear
That's when you make it all the way from there to here

It's not too late for laughter
It's not too late for fun
You have to know what you're going after
Or you will always be on the run
On the run
