The Dress

By Bruce Clifford

Pick another dress
Tell her what looks best
I hardly know her taste
Time is such a waste
Keeps passing bye

Three, five, or seven
What time is it anyway
The red looks good, but try the blue
I know she won't like green
Chaos to it's extreme

Pick another dress
Why should I know best
Circle den lions in the cage
The dressing room filed with miles of rage
Where are we now

They say there's no cure for this mind bending disease
Try a cup of java, or a touch of mint tea
Close your eyes and shut your mind has never been my way
Now I'm picking out dresses in many different shades

"mm, that one's not half bad.
I could see that one fitting just fine
but who am I to judge, who the "BLEEP" am I?"

They say there's no cure for this mind bending disease
Drink lots of water and try some peppermint if you please
A hint of smoke and ash still lingers in the air
Now I'm picking out dresses and no one seems to care

Pick another dress
Tell me which is best
Come on, this one is all you
I say it passed the test,
You must be looking fine

Three, five, or seven
What time is it anyway
The red looks good, but try the blue
I know she won't like green
Chaos to its extreme

Comment: Ms Lewis, I guess you've never made a man wait while you choose a dress, or some other item. This aptly details the thoughts that might pass through his head as he waits. I think it is quite clever. You can even sing the words! Not sure where you got your license for criticism, but a true critic doesn't just pan a piece.

Comment: Bad language, spelling and grammar. Poor grasp of prose. No understanding of the art of creative writing. Awful.
