Measles

By LinnieJane Burks

You're my darling sugar pie, Alice Anne.
Yet, today when I say, "Hi," Alice Anne,
And you turn and look at me
In the darkened room I see,
Splotchy face! Can it be Alice Anne?

Broken out from head to toe, Alice Anne.
In a red rash all aglow, Alice Anne.
Restless tossing hour by hour,
Even looks at Daddy sour.
Measles sure are hard on our Alice Anne!
