Body Functions

By John I. Blair

Never complain
When you have to pee
For many need a Foley
Just to pass piss.

Never gripe
At a need to defecate;
Some gnaw bran all day,
Take pills, elixirs, potions,
Just to keep bowels moving.

Never be displeased
If you snot and sneeze;
Some gasp and wheeze,
Need tubes and tanks to breathe.

Our body is a temple –
Don’t minimize its miracles
Just because they’re messy.
