Moving Moon

By John I. Blair

Just a small half-moon
In a clear blue sky
With small curved branches
Of a post oak tree

Juxtaposed in front
Revealed to me today
The clear reality:
This Earth revolves.

I sat there, staring
At the moon, and sure
As I was breathing air
The moon appeared to move.
