Coronavirus 2020

By John I. Blair

What do I do
At world’s end,
Everything
Upside-down,
Nothing working
As it should?

Restaurants vacant,
Stores bare,
Theaters dark,
School doors locked,
Streets near empty,
Isolation everywhere?

I stare out windows,
Weep to see
And hug my girls
Again, hear their
Sweet voices,
Smile into their eyes.

Never have I felt
With so much pain
How dear life can be
To me
And now, it seems,
How fragile.
