I Never Had A Reason

By Bruce Clifford

(12/12/99)

I never had a reason to hide away my fears like this
Spent all my time searching trying to find happiness
Like a storm without a season our love faded right away
Spent all my life believing all the love that is now gone from me

And
The same old sun came up this morning
I wonder where you've been last night
My mind is tired, my heart is broken
Don't tell me everything's all right
'Everything's all right'

We both had something good, but changes come with time
I know I lost you long ago, but you still swear you're mine

And,
The same old sun came up this morning
I wonder where you've been last night
My mind is tired, my heart is broken
Don't tell me everything's all right
'Everything's all right'

I never had a reason to reflect upon moments gone
I never stopped believing in a love that was never wrong

I want to talk to you, Romeo,
I tried to call but there is no one home
What is it like for you out there?
I read the book about you and Juliet
Now you see I can't forget
What is it like for you out there?
What's your secret, Romeo

And
The same old sun came up this morning
I wonder where you've been last night
My mind is tired, my heart is broken
Don't tell me everything's all right
'Everything's all right'

I never had a reason for a reflection of moments gone
Like the change of the seasons I am alone to carry on
Moving all the world is just a dream I have in my mind
Taking all the love that never came to be in my life
Dying for a song, a song to change the world someday
Hanging on to the line
The line of love and happiness
Take away the emptiness
Throw away the bitterness

I never had a reason
