I Keep Looking Through

By Bruce Clifford

("I Keep Looking Through" is part 2 of a the poem "Looking Through" that was submitted a while back.)

I remember walks in the woods
All the things that lived
I can't understand, do you think I could
Why did everything give

I remember games we used to play
All the things we would do
Can you understand what I'm trying to say
I keep looking through

I keep looking through you
I keep looking through me
I keep looking through whatever I see
And I'm looking through lonely eyes
And I'm looking through your disguise

I keep looking through love
I keep looking through hate
I keep looking through all that's great
And I'm looking through one who cares
And I'm looking beyond all my fears

If the future holds
If the past folds
If we find each other
Will I still look through you

I keep looking through time
I keep looking through space
I keep looking through to another place
And I'm looking through all my dreams
And I'm looking through all your screams

And I'm looking through you
And I'm looking through me
I keep looking through whatever I see
And I'm looking through love
I'm looking through hate
I'm looking through all that's true
And I keep looking through you
