Faulty Sunrise

By Bruce Clifford

I've stayed awake many nights awake and afraid
I should have closed my eyes early
I should have fallen into dreams
I can't remember how this is supposed to be

I feel like I've killed myself over and over again
The tragedy in what was meant to be is now my only friend
I hear the whispers of casual silence
I taste the rain drops on a steamy night
I feel the emotion within the violence
I smell the energy of this faulty sunrise
This faulty sunrise

Take me to a place where love is found
I should have closed my eyes early
I should have fallen into dreams

In the back drop
In the corner
In the ocean
In the war room
In the pocket
In the safety net
In the safety net
In the dark room

I feel like I've killed myself over and over again
If you can hear my voice I could show you what was spent
I hear the whispers of casual silence
I taste the rain drops on steamy nights
I feel the emotion within the violence
I smell the energy of this faulty sunrise
This faulty sunrise

So tell me who are you supposed to be
I should be dreaming by now
I should have fallen into a dream

Wake me from this silence and move in with deep regard
Take me from the window and whisper into my ear
I hear the whispers of casual silence
I taste the rain drops on steamy nights
I feel the emotion within the violence
I smell the energy of this faulty sunrise
This faulty sunrise
This Faulty sunrise

Comment: The chorus is hypnotic. I especially like the lines "I hear the whispers of casual silence I taste the rain drops on steamy nights" Good entry.
