Anger

By John I. Blair

Anger’s cruel beast
Maims all
If I don’t seize the reins
When first it rears.

Anger’s burning glass
Magnifies pains,
Casts harsh glare
On the worst of fears.

Better far for me
To be a healing pool,
Let anger fall in,
Never to be seen again.
