Lights On

By Bruce Clifford

Lights on but nobody's home
Sometimes I would be better off alone
On the verge of insecurity
Talk me off this ledge of insanity

Door locked but always on the move
Sometimes I wish I could find a different tune
On the brink of possibilities
There's a link to all the hostilities

I bet you didn't know when I had a name
I know you won't recognize me when nothing is the same
I don't remember you and you won't remember me
Call it blind fate and the way it has to be

Wish I could climb the barbed wired fence
Jump through the dirt in a quiet defense
On the edge of fire and rain
Take the pledge to do this all again
