Something That Didn't Belong

By Bruce Clifford

I woke up this morning
The sunshine was gone
Without a reason
Maybe it was just something that didn't belong

Oh it doesn't matter
She would have left me any way
There's no use believing
Circumstances, it couldn't be no other way

Ticking away
Moments of silence
It gets tougher each day
As dreams fade away
There's no use in dreaming of something that didn't belong
Something that didn't belong

I know that you're lonely
Tears flow from your eyes
With each passing season
Circumstances, it couldn't be no other way

Ticking away
Moments of silence
It gets tougher each day
As dreams fade away
There's no use in dreaming of something that didn't belong
Something that didn't belong
