You Knew You Had It Coming

By Bruce Clifford

>

Unified as one or two
This state of mind is all we knew
From Bangladesh to Tokyo
The roar of the mind is what we know

Take me to this altered state
Give me time to find its place
The synergy of this vacant cloud
Makes me stutter to the chaos and the crowd

You knew you had it coming
You knew it all along
Still, you kept on running
You played that same old song

You knew you had it coming
Memories in the rain
You heard my silent whispers
As you huddled up in pain

Unified as three and four
This empty void outside another door
From Inner space to the outer clouds
The roar of the mind and the cheer of the crowds

You knew you had it coming
You knew it all along
Still, you kept on running
You ran the whole day long

You knew you had it coming
What else could a man like me say
You knew you had it coming
You got your heart and mind in the way
You knew you had it coming
