Another Old Photo In The Album

By John I. Blair

Two women stand
On a jasmine-covered porch.
One is my Mom,
Sturdy yet in navy blue,
With forty years of life ahead;
The other great-aunt Ned.

Between the two illuminated faces
A silent stream of love,
The kind that people share
Who dare not trust themselves
With words, and later
Wish they'd spoken.
