After All This Time

By Bruce Clifford

After all this time
Many things have changed
Looking at these photographs
Some faces I no longer recognize
Many things have changed

After all this time
I know my heart remains the same
I could still feel the world shift in mild degrees
After all this time
I know the years are far between
But I remember the days when we could feel safe in the breeze

Who was that girl that I used to know
Where has she been
Where did she go
Is it just the passing of time
Time won't stand still
I could still see her now
But I can't see her still

After all this time
Curiously jaded
When the future decides
In it's far empty spaces
