The First Stone

By Bruce Clifford

Casting the first stone
Lost in the ozone
Searching for laughter
And what might come after

Casting the first stone
Lost and all alone
Wishing for something
Waiting and waiting
Waiting and waiting

Living with freedoms
A rhapsody of hopeless romance
Caught in a nightmare
Someone else is wearing your pants

Living with liberties
The false sense of security we can never avoid
The shadows of the stratosphere
Take me away from here
We've got to get out of here right now

Casting the last stone
The tune of the xylophone
Searching for reason
With each passing season
Waiting and waiting
Waiting and waiting

Living with freedoms
A rhapsody of hopeless romance
Caught in a nightmare
Someone else is wearing your pants
Someone else is beating you to the dance
