Stephanie

By Bruce Clifford

The rows of cherry blossoms and the memory of time
Wondering why life has mixed meaning and broken rhyme
Missing the connection and not knowing how this could be
Turn your head and smile, oh Stephanie

How can you ever trust if you've never learned how to heal
I'm left wondering why you turn off what you want to feel
Every moment of reason keeps falling back on me
What are you thinking of, oh Stephanie

You have to know inside I would never lie to you
So why are we at this stage of not knowing what to do

Those eyes of yours are like magic and light up the darkest days
The only thing that's tragic is when you throw true friends away
Without knowing any reason I wonder how this all came to be
Tell me what you're thinking, oh Stephanie

You have to know inside I would never hurt you in any way
So why are you crossing the line and throwing this all away

How can you ever trust if you've never learned how to heal
I'm left wondering why you turn off what you want to feel
Every moment of reason keeps falling back on me
What are you thinking of, oh Stephanie
