Why oh why oh why

By Bruce Clifford

Why oh why oh why are we
What's the use if we can't see
Motion sickness, empty air
Why oh why oh they don't care

Take me to the open planes
Ride the circle and hold the reins
Turn the whole world upside down
Lifting up this heavy shroud

Why oh why oh what are we
Show me out of this misery
Lifting pieces to the sky
Why oh why oh who am I

Where has life gone with all these years passing by
Where are we now as we gaze towards this moonlit sky
Where has life gone as I know I should never look back
One at a time we land flat on our backs

Why oh why oh who can decide
Let me sing of courage and pride
Nuclear fusion, count to nine
Why oh why oh are we so far behind

Take me to the open planes
Ride the circle and hold the reins
Turn the whole world upside down
Lifting up this heavy shroud

Take me to the hills and streams
The innocent layers of mixed disease
Seconds before the calling bell
Hearing children cry through the empty shell

Why oh why oh who are we
What's the use if we can't believe
Institutional deadlock, panic room
Why oh why are we dead so soon

Why oh why oh who we are
Living on a nearby star
empty shadows, solar flair
Why oh why oh don't we care
