Old Dog

By John I. Blair

(Written while under the influence
of William Carlos Williams)

The old dog limped
Tail down
To the house.
Crow flocks cawed
And flew too soon.
A split limb on the
Tall elm leaned low
As the wind moaned
Down the long lawn
To the house
Where, tail low,
The old dog limped.
