I Know

By Bruce Clifford

I think I once had a dream of you
I know this because I've never seen anything so beautiful
And your soul is deeper than anything I know
And your eyes are images of angels and void of lies
So often I try to understand

I know I have never held your hand
I know I have never looked into your eyes
But sometimes I'm caught by surprise
I feel like I know you

I know I have never seen you in the rain
I know I have never heard you complain
But sometimes I feel so strange
Just like I know you

I know I once had a dream and you were there
I know you stood there in the mirror
and brushed your hair

I once thought you came into my view
I know this because I never felt anything so in tune
And your quest helps me understand why you're the best
And your mind, you don't pretend as you are one of a kind
It's so easy to understand

I know I have never held your hand
I know I have never looked into your eyes
It comes as no surprise
Just getting to know you
