Made in the Shade

By Bruce Clifford

I'm not perfect, but I care
You can count on me anywhere
Sometimes I slip and fade
Other times you have it made
Made in the shade

When I circle around and the clouds are all gone
I know I can find the strength and the will to carry on
If you came around away from the judgments in your mind
All I know is there is a path we have yet to find

I'm not perfect, but I feel
You can count on my friendship as real
Sometimes I get out of line
Those moments I'm trying to define
Other times you have it made
Made in the shade

Made in the shade
I will never take the sun away
Made in the shade
I'm so sorry my dear for those I betrayed

You can still respect the sun
You can count on me for fun
The truth is all you will see
You will one day be able to count on me

I'm not perfect, but I feel
You can count on my friendship as real
Sometimes I get out of line
Those moments I'm trying to define
Other times you have it made
Made in the shade

Sometimes I slip and fade
I let the camouflage get in the way
Never again will I let this thing fade
One day you will see we've got it made in the shade
