It's Never The Same

By Bruce Clifford

Let me take you for a ride
Let me show you what's really on the outside
Take your message and make your plan
In the end only you will know where you stand

When I think of all the things we did
It brings me back to a time when we were only kids
When I separate empty dreams from pain
It's never the same
It's never the same

I know time could make one feel this way
It's hard to decide if I am going or if I will stay

When I think of all the things we did
It brings me back to a time when we were only kids
When I let trust and fear get in the way
It's never the same
It's never the same

It's never the same looking at you
It's never the same feeling the way I do
It's never the same and maybe I'm to blame
It's never the same once I knew I got through

Let me take you for a drive
I can show you what it means to be alive
If you can only hold out your hand
Maybe there will come a time when you will understand

When I think of all the things we did
It brings me back to a time when we were only kids
When I separate empty dreams from pain
It's never the same
It's never the same
