Hi, I Can't Remember Your Name Either

By John I. Blair

“Hi, I can’t remember your name either.”
That’s the quote on a glib,
Giveaway badge I keep on my desk.

I laughed when I got it
Years ago from a friend;
Now I don’t.

I scarcely note
My “senior moments” any more—
They seem so frequent.

A close, dear relative of mine
Won’t remember
What’s just been said.

Both she and I are being cut off from life,
But for her it’s faster and has a name,
Which she also can’t recall.
