My Worldarium

By John I. Blair

No aquarium or terrarium for me.

Too many problems,
Too much time to care for
With feeding schedules,
Lighting, oxygen supplies,
Litanies of responsibility.

But next to my reclining chair
Behind a set of glassy panels
The world is on display,
Full of fun and fear
Flying, fleeing, feeding, fornicating.

And all I have to do is watch.
