Made in The Shade

By Bruce Clifford

You might be right
But I'm not sure what you are thinking
You agreed to fight
After a long hard night of drinking

You might be lost
Each shadow seems to fade
What's the cost
Knowing each moment you thought you had it made

Made in the shade
The battle lines are drawn
Made in the shade
You've got the strength and desire to carry on and on
You've got it made in the shade
The shade is where you belong

You need to laugh
But emotion takes control over you
Cutting dreams in half
As you cry yourself to sleep in lonely solitude

You make some noise
Each night that passes breaks you into two
As your world is destroyed
You reach for the clouds and find a way to work it through

But sometimes I feel like
Sometimes I believe

Made in the shade
The battle lines are drawn
Made in the shade
You've got the strength and desire to carry on and on
You've got it made in the shade
The shade is where you belong

Made in the shade
