You’re Water; I’m Earth

By John I. Blair

You’re water;
I’m earth.

Your tears flow freely;
I take them deep into my heart.

You make life and nurture it;
I shelter and protect.

I bear all;
You carry all away before you.

We two, consorting with the air,
Constitute the world, our world.
