Loving

By John I. Blair

Isn’t loving someone
Better than being loved?

Loved I may bask
In golden sunshine,
Reflect the silver moonlight;

But loving I become as sun,
Moon, stars,

So occupied with ardence
There is no time, no need
To brood about extinguishment.
