Never Let You Go

By Bruce Clifford

The emptiness of the system
Quiet is the noise of pain
I was right there for you
I would have never let you go

The memories that never fade away
A distant place where promises were made
I was right there for you
I would have never let you go
Never let you go

When I woke up it was as if I was living another life
Everything I knew was gone
Everything about this place was wrong

When I woke up I was in another place and time
Nothing was clear to me
I missed her, but she can't remember how we used to be

So I go on each day
I go on my merry way
When I look her in the eye
I wonder if it's only I
Who can remember

But it stays with me in my heart
As if my world has been torn apart
When she looks at me in my eye
I wonder if she remembers her and I
I would never let you go
I would never let you

How do these worlds connect
Why am I the only one who can remember what was

The memories that never fade away
A distant place where promises were made
I was right there for you
You were once there for me too

Do you feel it late at night
Do you see glimpse of what was
Do you know what could be could be
Do you remember how it used to be
