You're The Only One

By Bruce Clifford

You're the only one
How can I get through each day
How can I let love slip away
How can I retrace my words

You're the only one who can see inside my soul
It's not like we're speaking a language
TIme goes by, we're getting old

You're the only one who can touch me when it rains
Separate images of destiny
A different time and place

You're the only one

How can I wake up with you
I can't get by when I'm not with you
I try each day to make this work
But when we talk on the phone you call me a jerk

You're the only one who's ever broken my heart
The only one who has torn me apart
You're the only one who's ever taken me down
The only one ever since you came around

You're the only one who's ever twisted my soul
The only one who's caused me to let go
You're the only one to get inside my mind
The only one who has brought tears to my eyes

You're the only one who I was unable to resist
The only one who I ever did kiss
You're the only one who I dream of night
The only one who has ever told me goodnight

You're the only one
How can I get through today
How can I reach for your heart
How can we find our own way
