Another Dream of Her

By John I. Blair

Another dream of her:
This time she was lost,
Wandering in a huge hotel,
Crowds of people all around,
Endless stairs and elevators,
Hallways, lobbies, rooms.

And I could not find her,
Frantically searching as I was,
Racing up and down,
Hoping for just a single glimpse
To assure me she was safe
And waiting for me.

All that I could think
Was that if I appealed
To those in charge
They would help her,
Give solace, keep her for me
When I should, at the last,
Be where she was.
