Wrong

By John I. Blair

How many skirmishes
Can we win while still the war
Is lost in every generation
Before we realize we’re wrong?

Not wrong in what we hold dear
If that is charity, peace, love;
But what we value in the moment –
“Honor”, “victory,” “valor”, “pride”.
