Watching

By John I. Blair

My house has thirteen windows:
When I’m home they are my eyes
Onto the world.

Each has a view that is unique,
Some a wide and open vision,
Some always blocked by blinds.

Several show me beauty every day;
With the blinded ones I have to guess
What I am missing.

I ask myself, is this
An image of my life?
