The Many Facets Of You

By Bruce Clifford

We haven’t exchanged any words since then
All these years without you
I’m not really caught up on what’s really true
Too many emotions to know what to do

What’s been going on with me
What’s been happening with you

Maybe we both have some battle scars
I want to believe you’ve been happy and free
Many years ago you wanted to reach to the stars
This is what I want to believe
I hope there’s a piece of you who remembers me

The many facets of you
The shine in your personality always came through
Now I feel lost and don’t know what to do
I can still remember the many facets of you

Are we lost in the shadows
Making up time
Have we put this jigsaw puzzle together
Has our day arrived

Have we fallen to pieces
Or have we kept ourselves whole
All these thoughts and the reasons
From so very long ago

The many facets of you
The shine in your personality always came through
Now I feel lost and don’t know what to do
I can still remember the many facets of you

We haven’t exchanged any thoughts since then
All this time has passed
I know the years seemed to have gone by fast
Too many emotions continue to last

What’s been going on with me
What’s been happening with you

The world has changed
Do you still have that spark
The one that lights the flame
When it gets cold and dark

The many facets of you
The shine in your personality that comes out of the blue
Now I feel lost and don’t know what to do
I can still remember the many facets of you

We haven’t exchanged a lyric since then
All these decades have come and gone
I’m not really caught up to what’s gone wrong
Learning a language from the words to so many songs
