Daffodil

By John I. Blair

©2002

Down into
The cold ground
Some day in
November
We drop it
And forget
Until one
March morning
We find a
Tiny bump
Upon the
Soil surface
And in a
Week or two
Up come these
Green leaves and
Flower buds
All bursting
Forth into
The spring sun
To bring us
Happiness.
