Conception

By M. Jay Mansfield

A star falls from heaven…
A spark……
Hidden in the forests floor…
Smoldering embers…
Gaining strength with each gust of air…
Breathing gently…
Until the spark gains life and becomes fire …
Growing rapidly…
gently tracing over the hills and valley…
Hidden beneath the surface…
Caressing the under brush…
Until it becomes a raging fire…
Life undeniable…
Erupting into a glorious light…
Breathing fiercely…
Panting like a jackal on the run…
Bovine Bravado…
Yet unfolding like Queen Anne’s Lace…
Network of strength…
A rolling herd of flames…
Engulfing land…
once fertile is now temporarily barren…
Crops sown…
Nothing more can be planted…
We wait…
Until the last crop is harvested…
Perfect yield…
Explosive farmers pride………
Loved entirely…
From conception to eternity… ………
