Escape

By Brooke Clifford

It's dark, and I, trapped in a world
With no windows or doors.
I can't see what's over the walls
I'm too small.
If I were to fall right now
Would I fall up or down?
I have no dreamcatchers
And my dreams are turning into nightmares.
I can't escape.
If I were to fall right now
Would I fall up or down?
I'm tied to the tracks
that I can't escape.
I'm a butterfly, and my wings are frozen.
If I saw over the walls
What would I see?
As I wake up to see it was only a dream.
I smile
but was it real?
