Wandering Alice

By Bud Lemire

I call her Wandering Alice, she wanders the halls to see
If anyone would like a snickers, it turned out to be me
She wonders where to get a book shelf
That will be just right for herself

As she wanders the halls and the lobby to see
She jingles her hand, for she holds a key
"I wonder just where, this key will go"
Only a turn of events, will let her know

"Oh the elevator numbers, are changing so fast"
As Wandering Alice, wanders into the past
She remembers a time long ago and far away
That plays on her memory, on that special day

If you should see Wandering Alice, on some distant street
Stop and say hello to her, for she is wonderfully sweet
Oh, I call her Wandering Alice, because she wanders around
And there's always snickers, wherever she's found
