The Same Old Song

By Bruce Clifford

Keep the pressure on
Keep it hot and cold
Sing the same old song
Keep it until I'm old
Doing what I'm told

Keep it locked up tight
Let the day go on
Keep it warm and light
Understanding where we belong
Knowing right from wrong
Sing the same old song

If I had the strength to make it on the outside
If I had the will and brains to go in and out with the tide
If I sailed to the stars and landed on the moon
If I wrote a new song it would be all about you

I can't write a love song
There are no words to describe what I feel
And if what I am touching is real
Open my heart and sing the same old song

Keep the water flowing
Let me see the other side
Keep this inner glowing
Got to get off this crazy ride
Got to reach the other side
Got to get out alive

If I had the strength to make it on the outside
If I had the will and brains to go in and out with the tide
If I sailed to the stars and landed on the moon
If I wrote a new song it would be all about you
