Thank You

By Phillip Hennessy

Just thought that I would like to say "thank you"
We usually say "thank you" when something is given to us
Though we rarely show gratitude when something is taken.
The space that remains, where something is missing
Whether taken or given,
That Space in our Hearts, or Place, in our minds
It always belongs, in some way, to its previous "owner"
The person, or something that connected, and created
the Chord that forever binds that space, with that Thought
You know, that "thought" that occurs, and that feeling alongside
……..Of wasted opportunity?, …..or the receiving of good fortune?
We smile, a "knowing" smile.

… A smile, nonetheless, of Gratitude, (or is it Sadness?)
Adorns our face, as we recollect the "energy"
Or should I say, re-connect the energy, of a Person, or Event
That recurs in our memory, and returns, in our Thoughts
We Thank those things and people of Present, and of Past
For the Lessons, and shared experiences
(the future, here, - at last!)

That place we dreamed that we would be,
In the presence of Angels, and the sound of the sea
the Warmth, of the sun, on our skin, - as we play
within realms of such beauty, so far, Far Away.

The Innocence of Childhood, the Adventure, of discovery
all welded within the mystery of previous Wisdoms, - Gained
of reckless thoughts, and mad decisions,
Balanced, - with experiences of profound Beauty
and feelings of deserving, or Owning, such wonderful Visions
Our hearts and minds smile, too, in unison, with the smile on our face
we pray that our angels will return, radiating smiles of Love
for the connection regained, and the Wisdoms, returned
At Last …….!!!

That Space in our Hearts, where our thoughts feel "at Home"
Enclosed within the safety of our Angels' protection
Warriors, to our Cause, for the Loves of our Lives
To be expressed forever, in the warmth of Paradise
Of parallel lives, that connect, on occasions of Joy,
And circumstances of sadness, grief, and misunderstanding
All shared, with such honourable friendship and good intention
With respectable admiration, we smile in our Hearts,
Though we show no Emotion, we're falling apart.

Though Wait. Wait there, a minute. Hold it.
Hold that thought, that feeling, that Time.
And, as you hold it, see how it feels, - Again
This time, (the Present) is here, it's really Here
At Last ……..!!!!
The Pleasure?, …it's Mine.
