There's An Air Pollution Watch of Level Orange Today

By John I. Blair

There's an air pollution watch
Of level orange today
How colorful it sounds,
How musical.
I can almost sing the words
As I drive along
With curdy lungs and itchy eyes.

I politely squelch a cough
And squint at the horizon all around,
Tinted softly brown,
Confident the sunset will surpass
All reasonable expectations
With glowing crimson skies
As the odorous night approaches.
