Leaving Me

By M. Jay Mansfield

Crawling back into my mind…
Gnawing thru the webs that bind
Looking at your face…
I am so out of place….

How did you get in here
My only haven from fear
So deep inside of me
How could this be

How did you get in me.
All of the pain I’ve seen
Your whips and chains
No way I could be the same

All of your brutality
Invading my reality
No way this wrong should be
Why do you consume me

I wander into my depths
And worse than my own death
I look back and see you follow
Chasing me into my hollow

Why can I not get away
When I leave you still stay
How did you get so into me
Why can’t I leave…
