Letting Go

By Bruce Clifford

Cry if you want to cry
Let it go forever
Love, there's not enough of the things you aught to treasure
Letting go is the hardest thing to do
When all my life I was waiting for you

Deep in thought in the tunnels of a dream
We won and lost but never found the in between
Love, there's not enough love, and not enough time
Letting go is the hardest thing to do
When all my life I was hoping to run into you

How did this happen
How did we end this way
How did we wish for all things that got away

Caught in the moment
Lost in the real
How did we get here and forget how to feel

Cry if you need to
Let it all go
Are we left here to kiss away all the beauty we came to know
Letting go is the hardest thing for me
When all my life you were holding me, loving me, understanding me

How did this happen
How did we end this way
How did we wish for all the things that got away

Caught in the moment
Shadows of light
How do we make everything alright

Cry if you want to
Cry if you feel the pain
If love is forever
How did it get away
