A Kite's Dream

By Bruce Clifford

Seeing the world through the eyes of a child
Catching a glimpse of the free, young, and wild
Finding a chance to hold paper and string
Up to the sky with a prayer and dream

Holding on tight as the wind takes a bow
Lifting up without any care or know how
Maybe life's tough as you reach for the sky
Heading straight up as you're gliding on by

You can't worry forever
You can't hide away from your dreams
One day when you are far away from me
You will discover what this all means

Feeling it lifting over the tops of the trees
Souring amongst them, the birds and the bees
Pulling so tight as the line meets the end
Up to the sky goes a world of pretend

Seeing the world through the eyes of a child
Catching a glimpse of the free, young, and wild
Finding a chance to hold paper and string
Up to the sky with a prayer and dream

You can't worry forever
You can't hide away from your dreams
One day when you are far away from me
You will discover what this all means
