Life Before Life

By Bruce Clifford

Life before life
Listen to what once was
The past flashed over me while in a dream
Before the day I was born I could hear the flowing stream

Life before life
Before this of all began
A glow shadowed over me through the thoughts of the day
That was the past, but before I was here to stay

Where do we come from
Why are we here
What is the purpose
Does anyone care

What brought resistance
Thoughts that survived
Touching a destiny
Living a life
Life before life
Life before life

Life before, life before, life before life
Life before, life before, life before life

Where do we come from
Why are we here
What has this taught us
Why all this fear

Life before life
Listen to what once was
The past stays with me once in a while
Remembering a time before I was a child
