Haircut

By John I. Blair

ďJust give a trim all over,
Barely brush the ears
And block across the neck.

Oh, and save the sideburns
Iíve been trying to extend
These fifteen years.Ē

Today thatís what I tell
The woman with the shears
And buzzing clippers.

So long Iíve stayed away
My fearís I canít recall
How I should look.

But if she gets it wrong
Thereíll be no tears;
Iíll simply grow it back.
