You taught me my letters
how to read and to write
You tucked me in bed and
Gave kisses good night.
You taught me the value of hard work too,
You taught me my manners,
Say please and thank you.
You always gave praise
When I did something smart.
Gave compliments for schoolwork,
For projects and art.
You taught me so much,
Throughout my childhood years.
From toddler to teen
Through laughter and tears.
And through it all I could ask for no other
A wonderful, hard working, kind, loving
