The Meaning Of Us

By Bruce Clifford

There’s light at the end of the darkness of days.
We could never pretend how we got in each other’s way.
There’s a peaceful resistance as our worlds slowly collide
Like two galaxies in space, there is just you and I.

What is the meaning of us?
What is the meaning of us?
What is the meaning of us?
Who on earth is left to trust?

There are moments in time when an eternal light sub-divides
If we step out of the line our worlds would still be destined to collide.

There’s light at the end of the desperation and despair.
How can we defend the reasons that have gotten us nowhere?
There’s a lack of molecules as my head gets lost in time.
Like two galaxies in space, there is just you and I.

What is the meaning of us?
What is the meaning of us?
What is the meaning of us?
Who on earth is left to trust?

What is the meaning of us?
What is the meaning of us?
What is the meaning of us?
Who on earth is left to trust?

There’s a light at the end of the darkness of days.
We could never pretend how we got in each other’s way.
There’s a peaceful resistance as our worlds slowly collide
Like two galaxies in space, there is just you and I.
